PERSONAL SIDE PROJECTS
Chris also does personal side projects for either pleasure or out of curioisity. These range from character design, miscellaneous sketches, to even scratch built models.

Spontaneous sketches

The most interesting ideas can sometimes pop up in the most random times. The ideas that come from pen and notebook also have their charm with expressing your mind. These are a few of my notebook sketches while in public.

The Weight on one's shoulders
When dealing with depression: it can feel like the weight of your problems of the past and present can overwhelm you. To experiment with expressing the heavy and hazy feeling of carrying a the weight of mental health on one's shoulder's: I created this illustration with a mix of photo-editing, digital sketching, and texture brushes to create this image.

Death's hand
The saying that money is the cause of all evil has a deeper meaning when it all depends on the individual who uses it. To convey that message, I decided to create a sticker with a silhouette of death's hand with a crowed skull on a dollar bill outline. Sticker was made to be B&W only with a matte finish.
Character Figure design: The "Octopus"

Before painting
After painting
Model robots are a hobby of mine, and making one out of scratch is one of my favorite past times. The process begins with planning and creating the parts from scratch. Then when the articulation is tested and quality control is complete: the painting and joint tightening is next. This robot design: The octopus, was made to look like it was made to work in the scrap yards, while also seemingly look like it was made from scrap. small features include: articled limbs and sub arms, and moving mono eyes.
Extended sub arms
Character Figure design: Tank mechs

After getting the hand of creating my own parts from scratch parts, styrene piping, and styrene sheets, the kit-bashing from other model kits becomes more so on adding detail to the base design. These walking tank projects are based from their real life counterparts. The green on off a soviet KV2 tank, and the grey one based off of the World War 1 tank designs. Both models can move their legs and guns. And follow the same design process that I follow for creating all of my scratch built designs.
